¿Û¿Û´«Ã½Abortion Data Pages Updated

WASHINGTON, D.C. — For the past nine years, ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½has maintained a set of pages providing key statistics on Americans’ attitudes and trends on abortion. These pages are now updated with 2026 data, based on a survey conducted May 1-17.

Abortion Trends by Gender, Age and Party

Three data summary pages show Gallup’s abortion trends by gender, age and party identification. The questions reported include Americans’ preferences for the legality of abortion (dating back to 1975) and their self-identification as “pro-choice” or “pro-life” (since 1995).

2026 Abortion Views Among U.S. Subgroups

Three additional pages focus on current attitudes, providing detailed demographic breakdowns of Americans’ preferences in 2026 for the legality of abortion, their views about its moral acceptability, and their self-identification as pro-choice or pro-life.

The tables go beyond gender, age and party, also showing the results by race/ethnicity, education, household income, region, political ideology and frequency of religious service attendance.

Several of the findings from these pages are reflected in Gallup’s recent analysis of Americans’ abortion views, which showed attitudes settling into a new post-Dobbs normal.
